Happy Halloween

The perfect evening. It was beautiful out and Griffin had a great time trick or treating with his Daddy and friends Kennedy and Teddy. He's one happy boy! I hope y'all had a great evening too!

Gig'em Aggies

Is that even how you spell gig'em? I honestly have no idea. But I have a little boy who likes to cheer hard for the Aggies and they way he does it is by screaming at the top of his lungs, "Gig'em Aggies" while watching them beat up on Iowa State over the weekend. On Friday afternoon we left for Ames, Iowa to watch the Texas A&M Aggies play the Iowa State Cyclones. It was a pretty evenly matched game (because they both stink this year, did I really say that?) and the Aggies came away with a WIN at the end. Dallas' parents flew in from Austin, TX to go to the game with us. It was fun to catch up with them and spend the weekend together. It had been almost a year since we'd seen them. Dallas' dad decided he didn't need to spend any more time in Iowa. You ever been there? If you have, you know why and if you haven't, there is no reason to go there and find out why. But if you do, you'll know about 5 minutes after you enter the state - There's nothin' but flat and corn fields.

Field Trip

On Tuesday, Griffin and I went to Kuiper Farms for a field trip with the entire Kindergarten at his school, over 350 kiddos. It sure was fun. We boarded 9 schools buses and headed up the road. It was about 30 degrees outside when we left the school. The kids were bundled up in hats, scarfs and gloves. Well, not Griffin. He couldn't find any gloves and did not want the three pairs of mittens I found so he went without. It didn't slow him down too much but it was pretty chilly out there on the farm. The children had so much fun and really enjoyed their time outdoors. The best part was the "Haunted Forest Walk" we took. Youl see some pictures above. I was in a group with Griffin and three of his friends, Luis, Aiden and Alexa. A great time was had by all.

The End

Well, that was fun. We loved our garden. Last night at about 5pm, Griffin and I ran outside in the cold harvest the rest of our vegetables as a hard freeze was expected and did hit us last night. We got two colanders full of tomatoes, onions, peppers and zucchini. Now what to do with them all? I've got salsa making in my future, I think. Until next year . . . . .

DIMPLES!

This is not a very good picture of Griffin. As you can tell his eyes are mostly shut however, do you happen to notice those dimples. Man, they are cute!!

Here's a better one from my boy eating his breakfast this morning. And by the way, it was "wear a hat to school day" so he got to pick which one he wanted (Go Aggies) and I let him wear "play clothes" (waffle shirt with football written on it and wind pants) today.

And here's one that could be captioned "Another picture Mom???"

And this one, "If another picture is what you want, then this is what you get!"

And finally, "I'm done with pictures Mom!"

"Time to eat my breakfast!"

New Fun

Let the fun begin! I picked up this bad boy over the weekend. Talk about intimidating. I'm ready and willing to learn how to use this. I've got DVDs, manuals, websites, classes purchased, now I just need to find the time. I hope I learn how to use it before our big trip to Disney World in 2.5 weeks!

Minneapolis

This past weekend (edited to say it's been more than 2 weeks but it's taken me this long to get back to the post) we drove 425 miles to Minneapolis to visit our great friends - The Stones. We arrived at 7pm which allowed just enough time to eat a yummy dinner then head over to the Shakopee Sabers homecoming football game. It was a well fought game but they lost. On Saturday morning we went to Nick's football game. Griffin thought it looked like a lot of fun and he might like to try football when he's in 4th grade as well.

The highlight of Saturday (well for the kids anyway) was Sever's Corn Maze. The picture above was from the maze last year. They didn't have a photo on-line of this year but it was a McCain/Obama Vote 08 maze with the White House. It took us about 45 minutes to go through the maze. Dallas was the leader/map reader. We had 26 locations to go to throughout the maze and each one included a fun fact about the White House. There was also a "corn pit." A corn pit you ask?! I had never seen such a thing but it was awesome. The kids had a ball in the corn. Here is a photo of the pit.

Saturday night the grown-ups went out to a very nice dinner and had great fun while the kids stayed home with a babysitter and had their own fun! Sunday was a lazy day of watching football, drinking wine/beer, hanging out with the kids and fixing a great meal. Thanks for having us Stone Family, we can't wait to do it again soon!

PS. The reason I don't have any pictures of my own to post is my beloved camera broke. I have no idea how but it's time to upgrade. More on that later.
